Harrogate (8 miles)

This Spa Town is only eight miles away. With exclusive antique shops and tea rooms you won't be stuck for things to do here. This town is also one of the largest conference centres of the North. This town also boasts many parks including Valley Gardens and Harlow Carr Gardens and not forgetting the 200 acres of grassland known as the Stray. Catch the No 24 bus to reach Harrogate. The town of Harrogate is indeed a real Yorkshire Rose, an amalgamation of business, leisure and pleasure.

Ripon (16 Miles)

Directions

One of the smallest cities in England, Ripon is known for its historic buildings and beautiful Cathedral. Ripon has an iimpressive market place with Market day on a Thursday and is also known for the traditional custom of "setting your watch" This thousand year old ceremony takes places in the market place every evening at 9pm with the blowing of the horn in the Market place. Nearby attractions include Newby Hall and the Ripon Racecourse.

Pateley Bridge (6 miles)

This town is the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales. (Nidderdale) The narrow high streets hosts a variety of shops that cater for any requirements from craft shops, traditional food shops and country tearooms. Nearby attractions include Brimham Rocks (great place for children), How stean gorges. This area is a great starting point for any walks through the dales.

Skipton (17 miles)

Skipton is also known as the Gateway to the Dales. (Airedale) The High Street is home to the famous market with its many varied and interesting stalls, and to numerous shops. The broad tree-lined High Street leads up to the church, behind which you you see the impressive facade of the 900 year-old castle, and Skipton Woods. Wander down the many alleyways or 'ginnels' to savour the town's history and character. Explore the side streets where you will find individual shops, cafes and restaurants. Visit the canal area with boat trips, marina. footpaths, and picnic areas.

York (29 miles)

This city can easily be reach by road or train from Harrogate. York is a compact walled riverside city and home to countless world class attractions, musuems and galleries as well as a great shopping centre.
